Woman Stabbed Multiple Times In Hudson Valley, Suspect Nabbed, Police Say

A man from the area is behind bars after allegedly stabbing a woman in the neck several times.

The incident took place in Dutchess County on Friday, Jan. 27 on Wolcott Avenue in Beacon.

The woman was found after Beacon Police received a call from her telling officers she had been stabbed inside her home, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson of the Beacon Police.

Officers quickly responded to the scene and located the suspect still inside the home with blood on his clothes, Johnson said.

They immediately took him into custody and proceeded inside where they located the victim upstairs. 

Johnson said she was conscious and alert but bleeding heavily from multiple wounds to her neck area. 

Officers began rendering aid and called for EMS to respond to the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS where she was treated and later released in stable condition. 

The suspect, 31-year-old Max O. Kleiner, of Beacon, was charged with:

  • Assault
  • Criminal possession of a weapon 
  • Criminal mischief
  • Menacing
  • Criminal obstruction of breathing

Kleiner was arraigned in Beacon City Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
